Isaiah 40:31 NKJV
But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
Be renewed like an eagle meeting daily with God.
That is what I heard as I thought about this verse. And find it true in life, knowing the LORD is God and we are not. When we want His strength, He will give it to us as a divine exchange. Then, when we are weak, we will be strong, empowered by His Spirit.
This is a lesson I learned years ago while reading a book by Evelyn Christenson. She shared being exhausted in her hotel room after flying to the city where she was scheduled for a speaking engagement. Lying on her bed a few moments, she asked the Lord for His strength. He renewed her to speak that night. Her testimony from Isaiah 40:31 has been powerful for me in practical ways. This verse and testimony continue to be reminders for my life and to share with others. As we wait on the LORD, He will renew our strength in our lives.
With God’s strength, we are renewed like an eagle, able to run and not be weary, walk and not faint. On days you feel you cannot go another minute, wait on the LORD and He shall renew your strength.
